Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Maine at Farmington! Whether you’re still making your final decision or you’re all-in on joining your UMF Class of 2021, we can’t wait to see you at our Accepted Students Days this Spring.
Our Accepted Students Days are purposely small, highly-individualized days designed to give you a chance to make personal connections with other UMF students — current students as well as your fellow 2021 classmates — along with professors and others.
At Accepted Students Day, you’ll get a taste of the Farmington experience, while meeting other future UMFers. You’ll also leave with names, email addresses, cell #s. You’ll make new friends and maybe even meet your future college roommate.
Plus you’ll get to know some professors in your intended major, if you have one, or meet with an academic adviser if you’re Undeclared, which is fine. And you’ll get to attend a college class in your academic area! Kind of like taking a test drive. You’ll like it.
Oh, and you’ll connect with coaches, student representatives from campus clubs & organizations in a nearly one-on-one setting. All this plus a campus tour and lunch on us. What’s not to like?
Accepted Students Days Are All About YOU
Seriously, our Accepted Students Days are like UMF in general: a friendly, laid-back affair where our focus on personal attention really shines through. It’s not a big lecture hall / cattle-call / sales pitch.
Instead, you’ll enjoy personal, one-on-one conversations with UMF professors, UMF students and UMF staff. You’ll get a sense of why our students feel so connected to this tight-knit community. It’s all about you.
A Parallel Track Just for Parents
We understand the important role parents play in the college decision process, so our Accepted Students Days have a parallel program just for parents (away from their son’s/daughter’s watchful eyes).
Parents have the opportunity to ask us questions: financial aid, safety, campus employment, housing arrangements, study abroad, move-in dates, internships, scholarships, health and counseling services, tutoring — anything. We want parents to feel comfortable with the process and to make a well-informed decision. It’s important to parents. It’s important to us.
Sounds Great! When? Where? How?
To register for an Accepted Students Day, just choose from the dates below for the academic major to which you have been accepted. We purposely keep these small — space is limited to just 12 students and their families per day — so we encourage you to register quickly.
Humanities (Creative Writing)
Secondary / Middle Education
Again, just pick a date based on your intended major.
Note: Johnson Scholars students should select a day within the major they intend to pursue. Those with Pre-Professional interests in the medical fields and law should attend the program for the major to which they have been admitted.
