Are you dealing with the recent or distant death of someone close to you? We invite you to join us for a meeting of the Student Grief Group. This group is for any UMF students who are dealing with grief related to the death of someone close to them no matter when the death may have occurred. The process of working through grief can be complicated, and there is support on campus! If you are interested in having a safe place to talk about your loss, or to simply just listen, please consider participating. Participation in the group is confidential.

Tint Sprint 5K!

On the 19th of April, the UMF Health Club will be holding the first ever Tint Sprint! This 5K run combines the traditional Turkey Trot route with a new twist: paint! Start the race wearing a white shirt and end the race colorful! Come down and enjoy a day filled with fun, music, and great company! Registration for the race begins at 9am and goes until 10:30am. The race officially begins at 11am. On your mark, get set, go preregister! Pre registration is available until the day of the race. Student cost is $17 during pre-registration and $20 the day of the race. Non-student cost is $20 during pre-registration and $23 the day of the race. A table will be available in the UMF Student Center for pre-registration daily during the week from 11am-1pm. UMF Community Orchestra concert, featuring the premiere of a new composition by Philip Carlsen, "Phantastische Sonate," with piano soloist Steven Pane. The one-movement piece is a musical collage which places Beethoven's last piano sonata in a dream landscape of excerpts from orchestral works by Beethoven and other composers. Before the concert, at 6:30, Pane will introduce and perform the complete sonata. The program also includes Haydn's Symphony No. 99, Debussy's "Children's Corner Suite," and Copland's "Quiet City."

4th Annual Canoe/Kayak Race & Fun Paddle

Come and participate in a race or fun paddle down the Sandy River! Roughly a 10-mile paddle starting in Strong and ending in Fairbanks. According to the White Water Classification system, this section of the Sandy River is identified as Class I and Class II rapids with moving water. Any ability is welcome!
