Flu Vaccination Clinic
November 14, 2012 - 11:00am
Influenza is a miserable respiratory illness that causes fever, body aches, sore throat and coughing. Most people or sick for a week or more. Flu can lead to serious complications like pneumonia in children, elderly or people with chronic illnesses like asthma. Please make getting vaccinated a priority if you have any health problems or if you will be working with children or elderly this semester or next. Flu germs spread easily on college campuses and getting vaccinated can protect yourself as well as the people you work with. Again this year, we have flu-mist, a nasal spray vaccine that can be used with healthy people up to age 49 if you prefer not getting a shot. We can bill most insurance for the vaccine so there is no cost to you but you must bring your insurance card when you get your vaccine. If you have no insurance coverage, the cost is $10 which you can pay for at the time (cash or check) or have it billed to your student account. In an effort to maximize the number of people we can immunize and be less disruptive to health care delivery in the Student Health Center, we are requesting that students and staff make every effort to come to one of the five clinics. Thursday Oct 11th from 8 -12 in the Lobby of Scott Hall-Health Center entrance; Wednesday Oct 17th from 11:00-1:00 in the Student Center, NDH-A; Friday Oct 26th from 11-1:00 in the Student Center, room 123; Tuesday Oct 30th from 11:00-1 in the Student Center, room 123; Wednesday Nov 14th from 11-1:00 in the Student Center, NDH-A. North Dining Hall A, UMF Olsen Student Center. Staff and those with insurance-FREE, all others $10. UMF Community Only. Sponsored by UMF Student Health Center.
