At the University of Maine at Farmington, you’re considered a Transfer Student if you have ever enrolled in a degree program at another college or if you have accumulated 12 college credits or more as a non-degree student.

The minimum cumulative GPA for transfer into most academic programs at UMF is 2.0, except for all Education programs.

Please note: Some of our majors are in such high demand that openings in those programs fill very quickly (Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Creative Writing, for example). For this reason and more, we strongly encourage you to Apply to UMF as early as possible.

Note: If you apply to UMF using the online University of Maine System application, the downloadable pdf application, or by sending us a paper application, we will waive your application fee. Although we also accept transfer applications through the Common Application, the Common App fee is not waived.
