Brian Cavanaugh

Assistant Professor of Special Education

Brian is an Assistant Professor of Special Education. He has worked as a special educator, administrator, professor, and at a State Department of Education. His primary areas of expertise are the education of students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) and Implementation Science. Brian has been providing professional development in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to school and districts across Maine for 10 years. He has worked primarily as a teacher of students with EBD in public schools and residential treatment centers. He also works as a professional development provider and consultant. Brian’s scholarly work has appeared in publications such as Education and Treatment of Children and Remedial and Special Education. Brian enjoys spending time with his family and watching the Celtics and Patriots win.
