New Resident Students  |  Thursday, January 13,  8am – 4pm

First go to the Vaccination Testing Center at 274 Front Street.

After testing, new resident students will be instructed where the next stop will be.


Returning Resident Students  |  Monday, January 17,  8am – 5pm

First go to the Vaccination Testing Center at 274 Front Street.

After testing, you’ll proceed to your residence hall room where you’ll stay til your test results come back.


All UMF students moving onto campus or returning to their residence halls must participate in asymptomatic testing before proceeding to their residence halls for the Spring 2022 semester.

  • Students who ARE fully vaccinated will not need to shelter in place.
  • Students who ARE NOT fully vaccinated (two weeks past final shot or those who have approved exemptions) must shelter-in-place, which means they need to stay in their rooms until the results come back.

  • All arriving new students need to report first to the Vaccination Testing Center at 274 Front Street (the street between McDonald’s & Gifford’s Ice Cream — across the street from the Roberts Learning Center) for vaccination verification and / or testing testing.
  • After confirming vaccination status or testing, new resident students will be instructed where the next stop will be.
  • Following Move-In, there are Orientation sessions and activities to participate in.

Returning Resident Students

Monday, January 17,  8am – 5pm

  • Report first to the COVID Testing & Vaccination Verification Site located at 274 Front Street (the street between McDonald’s & Gifford’s Ice Cream — across the street from the Roberts Learning Center).
  • Returning students who want to move in earlier than their designated Move-In / Move Back days must have permission from Student Life (brian.ufford@maine.edu) and need to move in and test on a designated testing day
  • Student-Athletes, Community Assistants, and Orientation Leaders have their own early Move In days, but do need to move in on testing days and test before 1pm on those days.
  • Students living on campus in Winter Break Housing need to test anytime the week of January 10 for their “return” testing.

The UMaine System indoors face covering requirement has been extended until March 20, 2022. This face covering requirement is for everyone: students, parents, friends, staff, the general public.
