We’re excited to have you join our community this fall.

At UMF, we believe that academics are just one part of the college experience. Making friends, growing as an individual, and becoming part of a supportive community are all important aspects of your journey here. Whether you’re a first-year student, a non-traditional student, or a transfer student, our orientation is thoughtfully designed with you in mind.

Orientation begins on Friday, August 29, 2025, and runs through Monday, September 1, 2025.
We strongly encourage all new students to take part in the events planned to help you settle in, connect with fellow students and campus resources, and—most importantly—have fun!

Important Fall 2025-2026 Dates:

New & Transfer Student Move-in Day:  Friday, August 29, 2025

  • 8:00-10:00 am: Residential Student Check-in, Last name A-L
  • 9:30 am-11:30 am: Residential Student Check-in, Last name M-Z
  • 11:00 am-12:00 pm: Commuter Students & All new students who already moved in Check-in  

New & Transfer Student Orientation: Friday, August 29 to Monday, September 1, 2025

2025-2026 First Day of Classes: Tuesday, September 2, 2025

Opening Day & Orientation Schedule:

8:00 am-12:00 pm: Check-in

9:00 am-1:00 pm: One Stop Shop

  • After checking in, why go to the One Stop Shop?  It’s worth your time to explore this One Stop Shop because there will be people from many offices around campus to get all your questions answered in one place.  This is also where you will get your Student ID!

11:30 am-1:30 pm: Lunch 

2:15 pm-3:15 pm: Orientation Begins!

  • New & Transfer Students Orientation Session
  • Parents, Families & Friends Session

3:30 pm: Welcome Ceremony -Family & Friends encouraged

4:00 pm: President’s Reception & Family Send Off 

4:30 pm-6:00 pm: Dinner 

8:00 pm-11:00 pm:  Beaver Connection Activity! Come meet your fellow Beavers and have some fun.
