The UMF Early College Liberal Arts Pathway supports you in your academic exploration while also helping you to discover majors and career pathways that may interest you in the future.

Those who complete this UMF Early College Pathway will have courses that fill General Education requirements at most colleges and universities. It also allows for a high amount of individualization as you may choose from a variety of courses in a particular discipline rather than a series of set courses.

You’ll select one course from each of the following disciplines

Note: There is no recommended course sequence

  • Humanities (English, Literature, Creative Writing)
  • Art (Art, Art History, Theater, Music History)
  • Natural Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences)
  • Social Sciences (Anthropology, Business Administration, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology)

You may bring in one course, or 3-4 credits, from another University of Maine System university or Maine Community College institution.
