We want to help you return to college and rise to complete your degree in a supportive responsive environment.

At the start of the pandemic, we recognized an unmet need to create a more personalized pathways for individuals who started, but didn’t finish their undergraduate degrees. We were looking to create a format that recognizes the complexities of their lives and acknowledges the increasing necessity of a college degree.

By offering a program, courses, advising and academic support services designed specifically for working adults, our primary goal is to respond to the continually developing needs of this distinct student population.   As an advocate for returning students, the UMF Degree Completion Program aims to increase the number of adults earning an undergraduate degree and, by extension, to improve access to higher education in Western Maine.

Consistent with the mission of the University of Maine at Farmington, our program for returning adult students is rooted in a commitment to preparing students for engaged citizenship, enriching professional careers, and an enduring love of learning.
