Through UMF’s Degree Completion Program, you have the opportunity to take your previously earned college credits and apply them toward a valuable and versatile bachelor’s degree. The online program is conducive to your busy lifestyle, and provides the work-related knowledge for career advancement.

There are any number of potential paths forward. If you already have significant coursework toward a specific degree, attaining that degree might be already within your reach. The first step is reaching out to us to ask. Below are some of the most popular programs with adults completing a degree.

Bachelor of Arts: Interdisciplinary Studies – Professional Studies

This program was created for the Degree Completion program designed for working professionals. It is a flexible interdisciplinary program that allows students to tailor their education to meet professional goals. Students may design a unique course of study to gain the skills required for a variety of career options.

In a Pew Research Center survey, respondents stated that interpersonal skills, critical thinking, writing skills, and communication skills are the most important skills for doing their jobs. These degrees teach these topics with a focus on effective communication, well-reasoned arguments, analysis of roles in differing communities, application of problem-solving strategies, and the collection and analysis of information.

Bachelor of Science: Rehabilitation and Human Services

This is an applied human services degree aimed at helping people with at-risk conditions to live independently and function effectively in their living, learning and working environments. If you have a passion for working with people, this experiential-focused FULLY ONLINE degree completion program might just be right for you.

Bachelor of Science: Early Childhood Education (Off-campus at Southern Maine Community College)

This program offers working professionals in the greater Portland area the opportunity to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from UMF while remaining in their work setting.

Bachelor of General Studies

The General Studies program is worth pursuing if your interests do not fit into one of our other degree program or if you have transfer credits from multiple disciplines that cannot be used to satisfy another degree. This degree may be awarded when a student has completed no particular major, but has earned 128 or more credits and has met all of the general education requirements as well as the residency requirement. The General Studies degree is only available to students who at the end of the semester of application will be within 16 credit hours of completing all graduation requirements.  The General Studies degree may not be combined with any other major or degree program, including self-designed majors.
