Fall 2023 Arrival Information
The UMF Arrival Date for incoming International/NSE Students and Scholars is Monday, August 21, 2023.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students participating in an early start FYS/FYF course DO NOT refer to the following arrival dates and form. You will be given specific details via email as to when to arrive for pickkup in Augusta, Maine at the Concord Coach Lines Bus Station.
Pick up will be at the Concord Coach Lines Bus Station in Augusta, Maine at 11:00 a.m.
- Request a pick up on Monday, August 21 in Augusta, Maine at the Concord Coach Lines bus station by completing the Arrival Form.
- Pick-up is available at 11:00 am on Monday, August 21 ONLY.
- If you arrive later than 11:00 am, you will need to find your own transportation to UMF and must arrive no later than 12:00 p.m. at UMF in time for the Mandatory Orientation program. Note: UMF is 1 hour away from Augusta, Maine. Taxi fare costs $75 – $100 U.S. dollars for a trip from Augusta to Farmington. Exchange money in your US arrival airport so that you will have US Dollars with you just in case!
- *Please note that Residence Hall move-in time is scheduled between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2023 ONLY. Earlier move-in is not available.
Arrival at Portland International Jetport (PWM):
If you will fly into Portland, Maine on Sunday, August 20, you will likely stay overnight in Portland and take the Concord Coach bus on Monday, August 21, departing Portland at 10:00 a.m. and arriving in Augusta at 10:55 a.m. This is the only morning bus from Portland to Augusta.
Arrival into Portland Transportation Center (Concord Coach Lines Bus):
If you fly into Boston, Massachusetts and will take a bus from Boston, Massachusetts to Augusta, Maine on Monday, August 21, you must schedule accordingly for arrival in Augusta, Maine by 10:55 a.m. This would require you to take the 8:00 a.m. bus from Boston, South Station. The bus will make a quick stop in Portland, Maine before continuing to Augusta, Maine.

If you need to stay overnight in Portland, Maine here are some of the hotels close to the airport.

Required Arrival Form
Submit your arrival details using the Arrival Form no later than July 24, 2023
You must complete this form, even if you do not require a pickup, and will arrive on your own at UMF no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Orientation
International Orientation will be held Monday, August 21 through Thursday, August 24, 2023.
New Student Orientation will be held Friday, August 25 through Sunday, August 27, 2023.
