The University of Maine at Farmington will make available to students shuttle transportation to and from Augusta**, Maine, surrounding the closings and re-openings of UMF residence halls for official breaks during the academic year.

Please note that the shuttle does NOT run automatically; YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION in person at the Student Life Office in the Olsen Student Center, 111 South Street, at least 5 business days in advance of your departure/arrival.  Shuttle questions should be directed to Judith Peary-Adams at (1) 207-778-7348 or jpadams@maine.edu.

For initial arrival and final departure of international & NSE students, the shuttle will travel to/from the Augusta, Maine Concord Coach Lines bus station. Shuttles may be canceled due to a lack of registered passengers and/or inclement weather. In cases of inclement weather or other conditions that delay the departure or arrival of passengers or shuttle drivers, please call the Office of Student Life at (207) 778-7348.

Shuttle to Local Farmington Businesses

UMF Shuttle provides transportation to/from the local grocery store (Hannaford) and department store (Walmart) on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., during regular academic sessions. The pick up location for the shuttle will be on South Street, in front of the Olsen Student Center.  No deposit or registration is needed for the Tuesday and  Wednesday local shuttle service. The local shuttle does not run during official breaks.

UMF Shuttle to Augusta – Concord Coach Lines Bus Station

UMF also offers a Shuttle service to Augusta, Maine. To schedule a ride to Augusta, you will need to register in the Student Life office at least 5 days prior to taking the shuttle. If you plan to take the Shuttle to Augusta, you will need to pay a one time $20 refundable fee to reserve your spot. You may pick your $20 back up after you have completed your reservation, or it can remain with Student Life as a credit on your account if you plan to ride frequently. If you make a registration but do not notify Student Life of a cancelation or you fail to use the shuttle after scheduling a ride, you will forfeit your $20.

The weekend shuttle will depart from UMF at 2:15 p.m. promptly and drops off at the Augusta Concord Coach Lines in time for the last outbound bus of the day at 3:30 p.m.. For your return trip on Sunday, the shuttle will pick you up at 4:10 p.m. at Concord Coach Lines in Augusta. It is possible to travel from Augusta to Portland and/or Boston via the Concord Coach Lines bus. If your plans take you beyond Augusta, it will be your responsibility to make plans, purchase tickets and so forth for the rest of their trip. Be sure to allow ample time to travel from UMF to Augusta and beyond when making your arrangements.
