Bio

Ann Bartges, Assistant Professor of Visual Art (MFA, University of Michigan), teaches courses in digital photography, video and 2D design. She has exhibited her artwork in the United States, Europe and Australia, and has been awarded artist residencies at Cite Internationale des Arts (Paris, FR), Institut fur Alles Mogliche (Berlin, DE) and Vermont Studio Center. As the director of Emery Community Arts Center, Bartges curates thematic exhibitions rooted in current events that feature local, national and international artists. As a curator, Bartges works to create opportunities for UMF students and the residents of Western Maine to engage in meaningful conversations about the diversity, complexity and humanity of contemporary issues.
