Joe Toner

Joe is our Associate Director of Financial Aid. He can help guide you through the financial aid portion of transferring to Farmington.

A lifelong Mainer (a Lawrence H.S. and UMaine grad) Joe has worked in both our Financial Aid Office and in our Admissions Office, giving him a unique insider’s perspective of those key campus departments. After a three-year stint working for the City of Auburn, Maine as a Recreation Specialist, Joe began exploring his growing passion for higher education and was hired on at UMF in August of 2013 as the Admission and Financial Aid Counselor. This position offered valuable experience in college recruitment and retention efforts and provided the ability to guide prospective students and families through the financial aid process. In December of 2016, Joe moved fully to the UMF Financial Aid Office where he works alongside colleagues in Merrill Center, providing guidance on everything from FAFSA filing to loan counseling, to on-campus student employment. Joe lives in Jay, Maine with his wife Rachel, and two young girls, Vera and Nora.
