Bio

Since joining the faculty in 2006, Linda Beck has developed several new courses that reflect her research interests in African Politics, Environmental Politics, and Global Studies, including a travel course on Ecotourism and Environmental Activism in Tanzania. Each spring, she teaches an honors course that prepares students to participate in the annual Camden Conference on World Affairs. Currently serving as the Associate Dean of Experiential and Global Education, she works closely with students and faculty to promote internships, short-term travel courses, and other experiential learning opportunities. Dr. Beck has published various articles, chapters in edited volumes, and a book on identity politics and democratization in Senegal. She has served as a consultant for various development organizations, including the US Agency for International Development, the World Bank, Freedom House, and the International Budget Project.
