Professor of Early Childhood Education
Dr. Mellisa Clawson has taught, held administrative positions, and consulted in infant, toddler, preschool, Head Start, and public school settings. She teaches a number of courses in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education, including Creative Arts, Individual Differences in Development, Social and Emotional Development, and Instructional Strategies in Early Childhood Special Education. Dr. Clawson chairs the Board of Directors for Franklin County’s child abuse prevention agency. Her current research focuses on tele-intervention strategies being used during COVID, and several UMF students and alumni are involved in this work.
