Bio

Nicole Achey received her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maine at Farmington and her Master’s degree from The University of Northern Colorado, where she became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Nicole has previous experience working as a Rehabilitation Counselor at the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. She also has multiculturalism experience from teaching English in Central America. In each class Nicole applies her professional experience to provide students with real life examples. Nicole is a representative on the State of Maine Rehabilitation Council; she is involved with the Maine IJM Advocacy Group and serves on the faculty development committee at the University of Maine at Farmington campus. Nicole teaches both online and traditional in class courses. Her areas of research interest are diverse cultures, and survivors of modern day slavery and human trafficking.
