First held in February 1999, Symposium has grown into a treasured University of Maine Farmington tradition. Each spring, the university community takes a day off from classes and normal routines to celebrate students’ rich and diverse work.

Symposium is organized by the University Culture Committee.

Twenty-Seventh Annual University of Maine Farmington Symposium

April 16, 2025

This year’s Symposium will occur on Wednesday, April 16. Symposium Day celebrates academic and artistic achievement and excellence by giving students a chance to highlight their best work. Students may pursue independent research projects, share creative work, or be assigned a project as part of a course. All daytime classes are canceled on Symposium Day with the exception of afternoon once-a-week courses, which may be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor. Navigate the pages of the Symposium website for access to this year’s program and details on all previous UMF symposia.
