New Student Employee Onboarding Process
Steps for New Employees
The following tasks must be completed within 30 days of hire:
- Accept the Position
- Accept the position offer through an email from University Services after the work authorization form is submitted by your supervisor.
- You can accept the position even if your direct deposit information is not yet set up.
- Complete Payroll Requirements
- Follow all steps outlined in the ACTION REQUIRED email from University Services Payroll.
- Set Up Your RecCenter Profile
- Log into RecCenter using your maine.edu credentials.
- Complete your profile and input your availability.
- Bookmark this page: https://umf.dserec.com/staff/employees.
- Review the FRC Employee Handbook
- Through this tracking form you will gain access to Employee Handbook. You will complete the Employee Contract during your New Hire Orientation. Familiarize yourself with policies and procedures outlined in the handbook.
- Attend a New Hire Orientation
- Contact your new supervisor to schedule an orientation session.
- Note: All new hire orientations are conducted by the department supervisor, not through front desk registration.
- Upload your certification (to include at least first aid/CPR/AED) to your RecCenter profile.
- Certification must be completed within 30 days of submitting your application. Courses are offered at a reduced rate.

Additional Notes
- Completion of the UMS Compliance Training and review of the FRC Employee Handbook is required prior to orientation.
- Time spent on compliance training is compensated and typically included in the orientation time block.
Returning Staff Requirements: To be completed yearly
- Review your profile in RecCenter, including confirmation of a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
