Aquatic Programs

Constructed around the University of Maine Farmington academic schedule and student staff availability, our programs offerings may not be the same year to year.

*Spring 2023 Update as of 3/24/23

There are extensive scheduling conflicts that prohibit us from offering swim lesson sessions for the remainder of the semester. HOWEVER, our commitment to area youth receiving water safety education has caused us to pivot on our standard swim lesson offering and develop another opportunity.

Youth Water Safety Clinics will allow participants to explore water skills that provide the foundation for safe play in, on, and around the water! Think of it as a long swim lesson, that incorporates interactive learning around safety topics.

Through in water lessons and land-based learning snippets, participants will join together to spend 2 hours increasing confidence in the water, while learning water safety habits. At minimum the participant to instructor ratio will be 4:1.

This FREE Program is open to any youth participating in kindergarten through 8th grade, in thanks to the Sumner P. and Flora A. P. Mills Charitable and Educational Fund.

Registration will open Friday, March 31. This new curriculum is under development. As details are available this page will be updated.

*Registration forms will be available 3/30 and must be submitted in person at the FRC, 152 Quebec St. Farmington ME.
