Tuition is charged on a per-credit basis, so changes in enrollment can change the amount of your bill.  You will receive one paper bill per semester, and any subsequent bills will be sent to the student’s maine.edu e-mail address.  Students are expected to view their account information through Mainestreet; a secure, online system located at mainestreet.maine.edu, where transactions in Student Self-service can be accessed in detail by semester.  Failure to pay your bill in a timely manner will prevent you from registering for any future classes or receiving a transcript.

Cost of Attendance

We are here to help you understand your estimated total cost of attending college, which is also the information your financial aid eligibility is based on.  There are different costs depending on whether you are In-state, Out-of-State, or you qualify for the New England Regional Program.  There are also other factors, such as on-campus, off-campus, or living with parents that help determine “Cost of Attendance”.

Direct Costs – Costs billed directly by UMF, such as Tuition and Fees and on-campus housing and food.

Indirect Costs – Costs associated with attending college, but not billed by the University, such as books, travel costs, miscellaneous expenses, and off-campus housing and food.

Please note that annual cost of attendance figures are based on estimated averages and are not indicative of exact charges on your actual UMF bill.  The COA is used primarily for financial aid purposes in establishing eligibility for financial aid.
