Students who have not maintained continuous enrollment at UMF (for any reason with the exception of an official leave of absence) and wish to return to complete their degree must apply for re-entry.
Students who have been separated from the university for a continuous period of 2 or more years will be readmitted under the catalog requirements of their year of re-entry. Students who re-enter after a separation of less than 2 years should discuss what catalog requirements they should follow with an advisor at the time they return.
When a student seeks to re-enter UMF after a period of absence of more than two years, readmission into the former major is not automatic. Approval must be obtained from the division chair. Courses that are more than seven years old are not automatically applied to the major; rather, a course-by-course analysis may be made by the division to determine whether the course content is still appropriate to meet program requirements.
