Club Sports – Big Interest, Big Opportunity

UMF Club Sports are student-led sports teams or sports-related organizations. Most of our Club Sports teams compete against other colleges and universities — but others do not. Many of our Club Sports teams are very successful and have extremely loyal fans and supporters. Home games and matches are very well-attended.

While many Club Sports at Farmington have long traditions, the offerings vary due to the changing interest, skill and commitment of the student participants. Our Club Sports are highly organized and also operate under the rules and regulations of their respective sports’ national, regional and local governing bodies.

Current UMF Club Sports That Compete Against Other Schools

  • Cheering (co-ed)
  • Rugby (men’s)
  • Rugby (women’s)
  • Ultimate Frisbee / Disc (co-ed, men’s women’s)

Current UMF Club Sports That Do Not Compete Against Other Schools

  • Dance Team
  • Equestrian
  • Swim Club (co-ed)

If you don’t see a particular Club Sport that interests you, consider starting a new one! That’s how each UMF Club Sport began in the first place. Here, we encourage students to follow their passion.

Intramurals: Competitive Fun — With Other UMF Students

Intramurals are sports activities where you compete against other UMF students, usually weekdays after classes or in the evening. Most intramurals at UMF are co-ed and they’re a great way to get to know other students and take a well-deserved break from the books. Some intramurals at Farmington take place outdoors, some indoors, and others in the water (indoors at our Fitness & Rec Center).

The Intramural Board dreams up these activities and offers more than 25 different sports and tournaments throughout the year. Our wide-ranging Intramurals program is based at the UMF Fitness & Recreation Center.
